Avoid:

❌ Slow months and unbalanced lifestyle.

Learn:

✅ Keep your workload and income steady (avoid slow months.)
✅ Focus on what you can control.
♻️ Keeping existing clients rather than finding new ones.

A Simple 📅 That Helps Me Get More Work Every Year

I realized something important:
A lot of the work I do happens every year.

So now, when I see in my calendar that I did a project in May last year, I send a message in March or April saying:

"Hey! How’s everything going this year? Are you planning something similar for ABC? I was thinking, if we did XYZ, we could make it even better this time!"

After 15 years as a freelancer, I started doing something very simple - I kept a work log or calendar.

All I did was write down the month when I worked on a project for a client. That’s it! It was so easy, it felt silly I hadn’t done it before!

Why This Works So Well

✅ You stay top of mind – Instead of waiting for them to remember you, you remind them before they even start looking for someone.

✅ You make their life easier. Many clients are very busy. If they haven’t even started thinking about the project yet, your message helps take away their stress - especially if you bring new ideas to improve on last year.

✅ You focus on what you can control and avoid last-minute stress.
Instead of getting a call saying, “Can you shoot this next week?” you stay ahead and can plan your time better.

♻️ ❤️ It is much easier to keep and work with existing clients than to find completely new ones.

Fill Your Calendar Now

It might take you one year to fill your calendar, but I recommend that you start backtracking last year right now!

You will see the whole year more clearly and notice that you did more work in some months and less in others. This will also help you plan ahead and move projects to slower months when you can.
