Want to Be a Broke Freelancer? These 5 Steps Worked for Me
(Get my worst freelancing tips at onemancrew 🥇)
Sit back and wait for clients to find you. Don’t reach out or promote yourself.
Waste your free days. If you’re not booked, sleep late and skip your goals.
Do the bare minimum. Only give what the client asked for - nothing more.
Avoid learning. Only do what feels fun. Don’t grow or improve your skills if’s boring.
Never follow up. And See what the client thought of your performance.
When I started freelancing, I made all five of these mistakes. It wasn’t because I was lazy or unfocused - I simply didn’t know what was needed to succeed. I thought being a filmmaker and photographer just meant taking pictures and making videos. But that’s only part of the job.
Because of this, I didn’t know what I was supposed to do.
I had a deep love for film and photography, but I had no plan.
There were two times when I almost gave up. But I kept going and eventually, I got a lucky break. (Another story perhaps.)
To help others avoid some of the confusion I faced, I’ve slowly started sharing what I’ve learned over the years at onemancrew 🥇
